The short version: Holland Pub is a free card game. Play fair, be decent to the person across the table, and remember that nothing here is worth real money — the loser only ever buys an imaginary round.
1. The service
Holland Pub ("we", "us") provides an online card game playable in the browser and through the iOS and Android apps (together, the "service"). You need an account to play. Games live on our servers, so you can leave a hand and pick it up later from any device.
2. No gambling, no stakes
Holland Pub is free to play and involves no real-money wagering of any kind. Coins, results, and anything else you earn in the game have no monetary value, can't be bought, sold, traded, or cashed out, and exist purely for bragging rights at the table.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it.
- One account per person — don't create accounts for other people or extra accounts to game the scoring.
4. Fair play
The game only works if both chairs play it straight. Don't:
- Cheat, exploit bugs, or manipulate game state, scores, or results.
- Use bots, scripts, or any form of automation to play on your behalf.
- Deliberately stall, abandon, or grief games to spoil them for the other player.
- Use a display name that is offensive, misleading, or impersonates someone else.
- Harass or abuse other players.
5. Acceptable use
Don't attack, probe, overload, or otherwise interfere with the service or its infrastructure; don't scrape it; don't attempt to gain access to accounts or data that aren't yours; and don't reverse engineer the service except where the law expressly permits it.
6. Our content
The game, its rules text, artwork, illustrations, design, and code are owned by us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to use the app to play the game. Don't copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit any of it without our permission.
7. Availability
We work to keep the pub open, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time, and games in progress may occasionally be interrupted or reset by maintenance or outages. We don't promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
8. Ending things
You can stop using Holland Pub at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms — repeatedly, seriously, or in a way that harms other players or the service — and in serious cases without prior warning.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, about the service; we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or game progress; and our total liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid us to use it — which, since the game is free, is nothing. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, and if you use the service as a consumer, you keep every protection your local consumer law grants you.
10. The app stores
If you install Holland Pub from the Apple App Store or Google Play, their terms apply to the download as well. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and have no responsibility for the service or its content.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above tells you when. If a change is significant, we'll make it clearly visible in the app before it takes effect. Playing after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Hungary. If you use the service as a consumer in the EU, you also keep the mandatory protections of the country you live in, and you may bring disputes before your local courts.
